The team behind the gorgeous E7 has announced the GS Music Bree6, a six-voice analog poly in keyboard and desktop versions. Nice!
GS Music Bree6
If you haven’t ever seen or heard the E7 from Chilean developer GS Music, get thee to this link and check it out. Then come back and get excited all over again for the brand’s just-announced new poly, Bree6.
As featured by YouTuber Jorb in his Knobcon 2024 roundup, “Knobcon 2024’s Most Impressive Gear,” GS Music Bree6 is a six-voice analog polyphonic synthesizer that will be available in two form factors, keyboard version (pictured) and desktop.
GS Music Bree6: A Juno in E7 Clothing?
Jorb describes the GS Music Bree6 as something like a streamlined E7. The oscillator section is Juno-like with its single VCO and simultaneous sawtooth and square waves. The filter, he guesses, is the same as the E7 and most likely a Ladder.
Other confirmed functionality includes two ADSR envelope generators, a single LFO with a variety of shapes, arpeggiator and sequencer, effects in the form of chorus and delay, and stereo voice panning.
It also has the E7-style visual feedback, with lights indicating the voices used as well as a LCD screen.
GS Music Bree6: Thoughts
It’s great to see synthesizers coming from parts of the world that aren’t the US, Japan or Europe, such as GS Music’s Chile. It means more variety in sound and functionality – and ultimately more synthesizers, which is what gets many of us up in the morning.
The Bree6 looks to be another fine synthesizer from GS Music. I’m excited to learn – and hear – more about it.
Jorb liked it too, saying, “I think it’s great. You guys should pay attention to this one.” We definitely will.
GS Music Bree6: Price and Availability
According to Jorb, the GS Music Bree6 could be available as soon as November of this year. As for price, there’s nothing official yet, although a commenter on the YouTube video who also attended Knobcon thinks it’s around $1000. We’ll see.
