The SONY MDR-M1 is a brand new addition to its headphone range with extremely wide frequency response and great isolation properties.
For decades, SONY has built the MDR-7506, which is the industry standard in the US and many other countries. Recently, the company added the open-back MDR-MV1 to the range, and now the MDR-M1 detail and clarity in a closed-back design.
SONY MDR-M1
With the MDR-M1, SONY has delivered the perfect all-rounder. A high-resolution design with a frequency response of 5 Hz to 80 kHz that allows you to record, mix, and master without reaching for another pair of headphones.
For extended hours of use, the MDR-M1 has been built for comfort with a lightweight design (216g) that has been created based on an extensive database of head shape profiles.
With the soft ear pads, you also get excellent isolation, which means you can also track and monitor with the MDR-M1. Furthermore, the detachable cable adds to the longevity of the design.
The 40mm drivers promise a balanced and beautifully articulate sound allowing you to perform precise tasks like finding the sweet spot quickly during mic placement or making the final adjustments to your mix.
When creating the MDR-M1, SONY collaborated with mastering engineer, Mike Piacentini of Battery Studios and recording and mixing engineer, Akihiro Nishimura of the Power Station at Berklee NYC.
Every effort has been made to construct a professional-grade design that will suit any application and deliver the same great results we’ve come to expect from SONY headphones over the years.
