“It seems like people are probably experimenting with other services,” Lori Conkling said at CNBC’s Gameplan 2024 x Boardroom conference in Los Angeles at the third show. “At the end of all this controversy the question is always, ‘How long is this going to last? … We’ll see what happens, but there is a moment where soccer fans have the opportunity to find their sport in different places.
The YouTube executive noted that YouTube TV had seen “participant growth trends (that are) viram no pasado” during the dispute, noting that the fall was the best period for acquisition of the streamer during the NFL and college football seasons.
Conkling's comments came just one day after DirecTV's attackers failed to show up for the first night of Monday Night Football on Sept. 9, which followed a power outage at Disney properties, including ABC and ESPN, that affected about 11.3 million customers for more than a week.
Since the shutdown went into effect more than a week ago, Disney and DirecTV have been at a standstill in negotiations, with the entertainment group and TV distributor blaming one side for the lack of progress.

“On Day 3, Disney requested a unique exception to return only to ABC tonight as it hosts the 2024 Presidential Debate, an event that is widely available on other major broadcast and cable news networks,” DirecTV said in a statement. “Unfortunately, returning only to Disney’s ABC stations for the entire channel lineup for a limited three-hour period will cause confusion among customers who briefly attend the debate, only to lose the channel again after its logo.”
