Annapurna CEO Nathan Gary is stepping down and leaving the company after a three-year tenure, a source familiar with the matter said. Deborah Mars and Nathan Vella, co-heads of the independent games division, are also leaving.
Under the leadership of Annapurna Founder and CEO Megan Ellison, Annapurna will closely integrate its in-house gaming and multimedia strategy into the overall business as the company approaches intellectual property and storytelling from a multimedia perspective, leveraging its expertise now in animation, film, television, games and theater.
Head of Interactive and New Media, Hector Sanchez, who recently joined the company with Epic Games, will take responsibility for Annapurna's indie slate, as well as leading the company's expansion into AAA games.
