Samsung’s mobile software development team has been especially busy lately. The company is simultaneously working on the One UI 6.1.1 rollout and getting the first One UI 7 beta ready. Previous reports claimed that Samsung paused the latter to focus on pushing One UI 6.1.1 to eligible devices, such as the Galaxy S24 series. A new report reveals that its latest mobile flagships are already receiving the update.

Samsung debuted One UI 6.1.1 with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. Since then, Galaxy phone users have been eagerly waiting for it. One UI 6.1.1 is an intermediate update that includes a set of additional AI-powered features, among other tweaks and improvements. The update was expected to roll out to other Galaxy flagship phones soon. However, things were taking longer than expected.

The Galaxy S24 series is already getting One UI 6.1.1, first in South Korea

Now, it seems that Samsung has finally started the rollout of One UI 6.1.1 on the Galaxy S24 series. Tipster Tarun Vats shared a couple of screenshots with the changelog for the update on X. The OTA rollout is taking place in South Korea first but is expected to reach more markets in the coming weeks. According to the report, the update has build version S928NKSU3AXH7/S928NOKR3AXH7/S928NKSU3AXH9.

Interestingly, it appears that the changelog does not explicitly refer to the update as One UI 6.1.1. This matches a SamMobile report from August that claimed that the One UI 6.1.1 rollout started on the Galaxy A35 in South Korea, but the attached screenshot did not refer to it as such. Anyway, the latest report shows that the Galaxy S24 update file size is substantial (about 3 GB).

The promptness of the global rollout of the update will depend on the feedback from users in Korea. If all goes well, your eligible Galaxy device may receive it in the coming weeks.
