Research firm Counterpoint has released its latest report regarding the state of the global smartphone market in Q2 2024. The firm reports that Apple took the lead in the global smartphone market with the iPhone 15 series. The data claims that the iPhone 15 was the best-selling smartphone in Q2 2024 globally. Notably, five spots on the list of top 10 best-selling phones are taken by Samsung in the second quarter of the year. Apple managed to capture four spots on the same.

According to the report, the iPhone 15, 15 Pro, and 15 Pro Max were the top three best-selling smartphones in Q2 2024. Apple managed to capture four spots on the list of top 10 best-selling smartphones during the period. The report suggests that the iPhone 15 Pro Max moved down one spot as sales declined. However, the iPhone 15 model’s sales grew, especially in emerging regions like APAC, LATAM etc. Notably, the iPhone 14 from 2022 was placed at the sixth spot on the list.
Galaxy A15, A05, and Galaxy S24 were Samsung’s best-selling phones during Q2
Samsung captured five spots on the best-selling phones list in Counterpoint’s latest report. Notably, the Samsung Galaxy A15 series took the fourth and fifth spot on the list. The Galaxy A15 5G model outsold the 4G variant of the same device. Last year’s Galaxy A05 was placed at the 8th place on the list.
The Galaxy A series phones captured three spots thanks to a better presence across regions and affordable pricing. Thanks to the GenAI features, the company’s Galaxy S24 series kept the sales momentum despite an earlier launch. Interestingly, the more premium and pricier Galaxy S24 Ultra outsold the vanilla Galaxy S24 model in Q2 2024.
Furthermore, the report mentioned that Xiaomi’s Redmi 13C was the 7th best-selling smartphone in the second quarter of the year. Notably, Xiaomi made a comeback on Counterpoint’s top 10 list after a year.
