OnePlus 13 officially confirmed to flaunt BOE’s X2 display

Several reports have suggested that OnePlus will launch its next flagship, the OnePlus 13, sometime in October or November. The company hasn’t yet officially confirmed these rumors. However, OnePlus China President, Li Jie Louis, has revealed one key feature of the upcoming handset. According to the company executive, the OnePlus 13 will flaunt BOE’s next-gen X2 display.

OnePlus will continue its collaboration with BOE for its next-gen flagship

BOE teased the announcement of its new flagship X-series OLED display technology at the ongoing Global Innovation Partner Conference in China. Soon after, OnePlus President Li Jie Louise announced that the next-gen OnePlus flagship, presumably the OnePlus 13, will utilize this display.

In a post on Weibo, the executive said that OnePlus and BOE will again work together. The Google-translated post reads that the companies will collaborate again to “push screen technology forward with higher brightness, screen quality, and eye-protection measures”. While the brand executive didn’t name the device, it is likely the successor to last year’s OnePlus 12.

OnePlus 13 could flaunt a brighter display that’s even more easy on the eyes

Last year’s OnePlus 12 flagship arrived with BOE’s X1 OLED display panel. The screen panel can hit a max brightness of 4,500 nits and offer 10-bit color depth with 2,160Hz PCW dimming. Notably, it was the first non-Samsung OLED screen to get the A+ ranking from DisplayMate.

So, it’s safe to assume that the OnePlus 13’s display will be even brighter. The next-gen BOE display will also increase the phone’s battery life with its less power-consuming panel. The new screen will also deliver an enhanced eye protection experience than the last generation.

During the Global Innovation Partner Conference, BOE said that its second-gen X OLED display will officially launch in October. There’s a possibility that the OnePlus 13 could also go official around the same time.

OnePlus could be aiming to launch its new flagship before China’s Singles’ Day shopping festival on November 11. We can expect more details about the new phone in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
