DirecTV is offering a $20 credit to more than 11 million subscribers, as the pay-TV giant is currently embroiled in a carriage dispute with The Walt Disney Company.

To claim credit, DirecTV, DirecTV Stream, and U-Verse customers can access: directv.com/tvpromise.

The programming blackout, affecting networks such as ABC and ESPN, began Sunday evening after the two parties were unable to reach a new carriage agreement before the end of the current one.

“Our contract with Disney has ended,” the company said in a statement. Advertise on your site“We appreciate your patience as we negotiate to offer more flexibility in channel escalation and all your programming and sports in one place.”

When visiting the DirecTV website to claim the $20 credit, customers will be asked to select their service, enter their zip code, and then must provide the email address associated with their DirecTV or DirecTV Stream account.

You must maintain an active account to which the credit can be applied, or it can be enforced through two collection cycles.

Meanwhile, DirecTV recommends sports fans tune in to their local affiliates like Fox, CBS, NBC and Amazon's Prime Video to accompany the current NFL season.

“This proves that your favorite time is not playing on the second fair night at the end of the season, and then it took enough time to come to a new agreement,” he told DirecTV.

Big Ten Network affiliates also carry college football games, which remain available on DirecTV, and occasionally Big 12 games on Fox, FS1 or other available channels. While most ACC and SEC games are on Disney-owned channels, DirecTV notes that some are on The CW. The site includes links to full programming for both college football and the NFL.

As such, Disney-owned local broadcast stations typically carry news and other programming on the stations' websites and apps.

“ABC will not begin returning with original episodes until the week of September 17, and we are currently looking at all ways to restore its programming as quickly as possible,” he added to DirecTV.
