The name of the world’s first tri-fold smartphone has been revealed. That smartphone is coming from Huawei, and it will be called the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design. The name of the world’s first tri-fold smartphone has been confirmed

Huawei released a short teaser video in order to confirm the name. It did not show anything else in that video, however, not even a glimpse of the phone’s design. We do know what the device will look like, however.

Name of the world’s first tri-fold smartphone has been revealed

Richard Yu was spotted using the phone on two occasions. The first time around, he used the phone unfolded. The second time he was spotted using it in a folded form.

The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design will launch on September 10. That is something Huawei confirmed yesterday. The device will launch during a press event in China. It is coming one day after Apple’s iPhone 16 event.

Chances are that this foldable phone will not make its way to other markets, but Huawei could surprise us. It will allegedly be quite expensive and manufactured in limited quantities. It was also confirmed that the device will go on sale this month, this is not a concept or anything of the sort.

The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design will be thinner than you think

The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design will be thinner than you think when folded. Well, at least based on the images that were shared earlier, when the company’s chairman was handling the device.

Both TECNO and OPPO showed off their tri-fold concepts recently, but Huawei is actually launching a phone that consumers will be able to buy. Samsung is also working on a tri-fold smartphone, allegedly.

It would be nice to see this tri-fold phone in more markets, but that doesn’t seem likely at the moment. Let’s see what happens, Huawei could yet surprise us.
