HMD is reportedly working on a new smartphone that is said to launch as the HMD Hyper. An alleged render and almost complete specs of the device were leaked recently. The leaked photo of the upcoming HMD phone reminds us of the Nokia Lumia lineup. Now, all the purported HMD Hyper color options have surfaced online.
HMD Hyper said to be available in four attractive colorways
The upcoming HMD Hyper is rumored to be the successor to the Nokia X30, which arrived in 2022. The phone’s leaked design is more in line with the recently launched HMD Skyline. The device will have a mix of curved lines at the rear panel and sharp corners. The handset was already leaked in a yellow color last month.
The latest leak shows the HMD Hyper in three more additional colors. These include a Blue Topaz hue similar to the HMD Skyline, apart from Red and Gray. As of now, it is not clear if these color options will be available in all regions or will vary from market to market. We will know more in the coming weeks.
A mid-range offering with triple rear cams and 33W fast charging
The same source already leaked the key specifications of the HMD Hyper. According to the tipster, the phone will be a mid-range offering with a triple rear camera setup and fast charging. The device will be equipped with a 6.55-inch full HD+ display with an OLED panel and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The phone could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 4nm processor, aided by the Adreno 710 GPU.
Furthermore, the source suggests that the HMD Hyper will offer 8GB of RAM and 256GB of expandable storage. We can also expect more RAM and storage variants at the official launch. At the rear, the handset is said to feature a 50MP OIS-enabled main camera. It will also have a 13MP telephoto secondary snapper and an 8MP ultra wide-angle third sensor. Notably, the front camera will also have a 50MP lens, if the source is to be believed.
Besides, the HMD Hyper is said to offer a 4,700mAh battery that will support 33W fast charging. The connectivity options will include Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 5, and NFC etc. Furthermore, the phone could have IP54 certification for resistance against splashes and dust.
Unfortunately, HMD hasn’t yet officially announced anything about the upcoming Hyper. However, since most of the specs and colorways of the device are leaked already, an official launch shouldn’t be too far. Perhaps a launch at IFA 2024 trade show in Berlin could be on the cards.
