Native Instruments has announced Komplete 15. As with every new release of Komplete, the new version of the bundle comes with many new additions, including Kontakt 8, Guitar Rig 7 Pro, Ozone 11 Standard, and of course loads of new samples and sounds. But what’s happening with Reaktor?

Native Instruments Komplete 15 Announced

Two years after Komplete 14, the massive bundle of software instruments and effects is about to get another big upgrade. According to Native Instruments, Komplete 15 will arrive soon with many new instruments and sound libraries.

First and foremost, Komplete 15 will include Kontakt 8. The latest version of the sample player comes with new Chords and Phrases tools designed to inspire your creativity. Kontakt 8 will also feature a new looping engine named Leap, and Conflux, a new hybrid wavetable instrument.

Guitar Rig 7 Pro has also been added to Komplete. The latest version of the virtual guitar studio came out about a year ago (read our review here), but wasn’t part of Komplete 14. Similarly, Komplete 15 will feature iZotope Ozone 11 Standard (the previous version came with Ozone 10).

In addition to this, there are of course loads of new libraries, such as Kithara, Fables, Valves Pro, Vocal Colors, Action Woodwinds, Alicia’s Electric Keys, Session Percussionist, Acoustic Sunburst Deluxe, and Upright Bass. As per usual, which ones you get depends on your choice of Komplete bundle (Standard, Ultimate, or Collector’s Edition), so be sure to compare the versions on the Native Instruments website.

According to Native Instruments, Komplete 15 will also feature deeper hardware integration for the Kontrol keyboards and Maschine.

Has Native Instruments Reaktor been discontinued?

Sadly, however, a closer look at the comparison table reveals that Reaktor 6 will no longer be part of any version of Komplete 15 (although the Reaktor Prism and Spark synths still are). It looks like Native Instruments has finally pulled the plug on the modular environment that started it all. While it’s probably true that only a small portion of Komplete owners make use of Reaktor’s full capabilities, seeing it quietly being discontinued (as it happened to Absynth before) is a sad way to see it go.

Price and Availability

According to the NI website, Komplete 15 will be released on September 23, 2024. Komplete 15 Standard costs €599, Ultimate is €1199, and Collectors Edition can be yours for €1799. Updates from previous versions and upgrades from lower tiers and Komplete Select are of course also available.

Komplete 15 requires macOS 12, 13, or 14, or Windows 10 or 11.
