Tecno is all set to launch its latest foldable smartphones called the Phantom V Fold 2 and V Flip 2 soon. While the company is yet to announce a launch date, it recently started taking pre-orders for the phones in Ghana. At the time, the brand shared the design of its upcoming devices but refrained from revealing their key specs or pricing details. However, we now have price details of the Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 and Flip 2, thanks to a report by SpillSomebeans.
Tecno will position its foldables as more affordable alternatives to those from mainstream brands
The Phantom V Fold 2’s price will be GHS 16,550 (~$1,060) for its sole 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant. As for the more affordable Phantom V Flip 2, it will cost GHS 9,800, which roughly translates to $630. This one will have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of native storage. There’s a possibility that the brand will offer more RAM and storage variants of these phones.
The new leak suggests that Tecno will position its next foldable phones as more affordable alternatives to those from mainstream brands. To compare, Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Fold 6 carries a hefty starting price tag of $1,899. Notably, the Razr, Motorola’s most affordable foldable for 2024 costs $699.
Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 & V Flip 2’s rumored specifications
According to the reports, the Phantom V Fold 2 foldable will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Plus SoC. The Phantom V Flip 2 will utilize the Dimensity 8050 processor. The V Fold 2 will have three primary rear cameras, which will be placed inside a large square module. As for the V Flip 2, it will offer two main cameras that will be located inside holes on the cover screen.
Furthermore, the rumor mill suggests the Phantom V Fold 2 will have a total battery capacity of 5,610mAh. It will be divided between two 2,637mAh and 2,973mAh power cells. Notably, the phone will support 70W fast charging, a significant upgrade from the 45W fast charging of the predecessor. We will know more about their other specs in the coming days.
