The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is the most powerful slab phone Google announced this year, well, along with the Pixel 9 Pro. Those devices started reaching consumers already, and issues started popping up. Some Pixel 9 Pro XL users have started complaining about a camera tilt issue.
This actually comes following a report stating wireless charging issues on the Pixel 9 series. That’s a whole different story, though, let’s focus on the issue at hand.
Some Pixel 9 Pro XL users are experiencing the camera tilt problem
One Pixel 9 Pro XL user went to Reddit to report a camera tilt issue. The problem seems to be related to the telephoto lens of the phone. This camera tilt is noticeable while video recording, it seems.
The user noticed the problem when switching from 2x to 5x zoom, as shown below. You can clearly see how the image rotates slightly to the right when switching between two zoom levels.
Now, this user is not the only one who has this problem, it seems. More users said they had the same problem, they left a comment in that Reddit thread. What’s even worse is that this issue doesn’t seem to be exclusive to the telephoto camera.
The issue doesn’t seem to be exclusive to the telephoto camera, though
Another Reddit user says that the tilt can be seen with the ultrawide camera too. Another user chimed in saying that he has issues with both the telephoto and ultrawide cameras, the tilt is visible on both.
Some users said that the issues are present on their phones too, but not every time. Do note that we do not have this problem on any of our units, including the Pixel 9 Pro XL.
We’re not sure what’s going on here, but we’re hoping that this is just a software issue, not a hardware one. In other words, we do hope that Google can fix this via an update.
