This week on Guitar Gear Gems, we look at Kurt’s Cologne chorus pedal from Australian pedal maker PastFX. We also look at the new Sterling by Music Man Intro Series, which is priced at $199 and could be an excellent option for anyone on a budget. Finally, Oasis has announced they will do a 14-date UK and Ireland tour; it looks like the Gallagher brothers are back!
Kurt’s Cologne
Experience the iconic Nirvana chorus sounds with Past FX’s Kurt’s Cologne. Beyond the classic EHX Small Clone design, Kurt’s Cologne features an 8-way Depth control that allows you to dial in the perfect chorus intensity.
Whether you prefer subtle modulation or a swirling, immersive effect, it covers many chorus tones besides Nirvana. The standard Level, Mix, and Rate controls will help dial your core chorus tone.
Hi-Cut & Lo-Cut
Sculpt your sound with surgical precision using the hi-cut and low-cut switches. These controls enable you to fine-tune your tone, eliminating unwanted frequencies and ensuring your sound sits perfectly in the mix.
Finally, the stereo design offers depth and dimension to your sound, making it ideal for ambient textures and expansive soundscapes. Thanks to 9V or 18V operation, the circuit also has a cleaner signal with significantly less background noise than the original.
MSRP – 299 Australian dollars
