Chelsea “Fez-M” Movement for Assassination Evan Tony to BrentfordWith a “good chance” of reaching an agreement, the second stories.
England striker out of Brentford squad to give us his first game First League The campaign, and with less than a year left on the contract, a summer move seems certain.
Tony has been linked with a number of clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham, with an offer made to him to move to the Saudi Professional League like Al-Ahli.
Interest from other Premier League clubs appears to have waned, with Chelsea still very much interested in the 28-year-old.
Celestial Sports The Blues are reported to be “making an attempt to recruit” the striker, but it is not entirely clear what that means in terms of an offer.
However, the story suggests that Chelsea have a “good chance” of striking a deal for Toni, due to the player's fees and salary being below their reach.
The Bees are believed to be willing to settle for around £40m to £50m as they try to reach an agreement before a transfer date is announced and avoid the risk of falling out of favour with Tony next year.
Toney is also not expected to be a problem in terms of salary, with Chelsea offering around £60,000-70,000 in basic wages to new recruits and the striker is likely to provide that amount.
He would certainly prove cheaper than Chelsea's other key player, Victor Osimhen, who is due to leave Napoli this summer, but the transfer fee and salary demands are very high.
The Brentford star could earn more by moving to Saudi Arabia, but his call to stay in the Premier League, compete in Europe and maintain his chances in England would be of great benefit to Chelsea's search for him.
There is now a chance that he could be replaced by another Premier League or European club, but time is running out before the transfer deadline on the sixth show, August 30, at 11pm.
Toney would be another signing in a very busy summer for Chelsea in the transfer market.
The Blues have Joao Felix, Pedro Neto, Aaron Anselmino, Philip Jorgensen, Caleb Wiley, Renato Veiga, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Mark Juraio, Tosin Adarabioyo and Omari Kelleman.
