After a quiet display against former club Manchester City, Palmer's frustrations will continue, as he somehow made a mistake or missed the last 17 minutes.
To be fair, the ball was released and quickly hit Palmer, but Chelsea players would have banked on the England international converting a similar opportunity last season.
Like a passing rhythm in the first tempo, Palmer ricocheted the ball over a desperate Jose Sa from 20 metres out in a moment of pure brilliance, leaving the visiting Chelsea support in a state of ecstasy.
The forward was the creator, creating all three goals in Madueke's brilliant hat-trick that kept the visitors out of sight in the second half.
The last player to provide three assists in a single game against Chelsea was Cesc Fabregas, in April 2016.
Mykhailo Modric – 4
Perhaps the highlight of Mudryk's performance was a fierce attack on Wolves' defence at the end of the first half, with the Ukrainian once again showing glimpses of the talent that convinced Chelsea to pay £62m for his job 18 months ago.
He was replaced by new Chelsea player, Pedro Neto, in the 46th minute.
Nicholas Jackson – 6
There was a lot of talk about Nicolas Jackson's position at Chelsea over the summer, but it was a dream come true for the Senegalese at Molineux.
Jackson was seen with plenty of space at the back post and the striker made no mistakes as Jose Sa beat the team in just the second minute.
He was denied by Madueke and Palmer in the second half before being replaced by Felix.

Get a warm welcome from the wolf hurricanes to be served at the Mudryk home in between his old tradition.
He looked to have the ball and made a few nice touches before putting the ball on a tray for Felix to shoot in the dying minutes.
Joao Felix – 7
Felix Jackson was substituted 20 minutes from time in the final at Molineux and showed his brilliance by finishing off the game for the first time against SA in the 80th minute.
The Portugal international is expected to be the first of many after returning to Stamford Bridge following his move to Atletico Madrid last week.

The trio failed to make significant contributions after coming on as substitutes, but they did nothing that would affect their chances in the future.
