Noel Gallagher’s Iconic Epiphone Les Paul to be Auctioned
Oasis’ landmark album Definitely Maybe, is set to go under the hammer at Sotheby’s. The entry-level electric guitar is expected to fetch a staggering sum, potentially breaking records for an Epiphone.
It comes in a cherry sunburst finish and has the serial number S9214903 on the rear of headstock.
Definitely Maybe
Used extensively during the re-recording sessions for Definitely Maybe, the Epiphone Les Paul played a pivotal role in crafting hits like “Rock ‘n’ Roll Star,” “Live Forever,” and “Shakermaker.”
The guitar ia part of Sotheby’s Popular Culture auction on 29 August. With the cultural significance of Definitely Maybe and the allure of owning a piece of music history, this auction is set to be a major event for collectors and Oasis fans alike.
We would recommend just buying a modern Epiphone Les Paul in cherry sunburst and save yourself a small fortune. As the estimated guide price for Noel’s original is £60,000 – £80,000!
