The floodgates are open! More Pixel 9 leaks before the event

Google’s next hardware event is set to kick off in less than a week, and we’re still getting leaked images of its upcoming phones. While we already know how these phones will look, a few more leaked images won’t hurt, will they? Here are just a few more leaks of the Pixel 9 phones. This comes just after some live images leaked for these phones.

If you’re excited to see Google announce these devices, then you’ll want to mark your calendar for August 13th. That’s when Google’s going to announce the new Pixel 9 phones along with the new Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Pixel Watch 3. You read that right! August 13th, not October. Google decided to move the event two months earlier in the year. We’re not sure why, but let’s hope the company knows what it’s doing.

So, it’s been confirmed and confirmed over again that these phones will have the odd (and oddly good-looking) Bender-style camera bump. Rather than stretching across the entirety of the phone, there will be a pill-shaped bump that will stretch right from the phone. Along with that, it appears that the corners will be a bit rounder compared to last year’s phones. The last major difference is the fact that the sides are considerably flatter this time around.

Evan Blass leaked some promotional material today showing us the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and the Pixel 9 Pro XL. They’re PNG files with transparent backgrounds, and they have the “Pixel 9 with Gemini” text along with them. The Pro and Pro XL will have their respective names in the text.

It seems that pink will be a sought-after color this year just like the Bay Blue color was with the Pixel 8 phones. The Picture of the vanilla Pixel 9 shows us the pink color. We don’t know what funky name Google is going to give this color (our bet is on something like “Impossibly Pink”). Overall, it looks really nice on this phone.

Pro models

Evan Blass also gave us images of the Pro models. The Pixel 9 Pro is sporting a gray color along with an additional camera. This year sees the return of the telephoto camera for the Pro series. Along with that, it looks like this year will also see the return of the temperature sensor. Looking at the picture, it’s pretty clear that this phone will have a glossy frame.

Next, we have the Pixel 9 Pro XL sporting a cool cream color. The off-white color looks nice on the phone, while it’s not as flashy as the pink color. In this picture, we also see that it might have a glossy frame. That’s something that you’ll either love or hate.

What to expect

This year, Google is going to bring the typical upgrade to the processor. Its phones are going to use the new Tensor G4 processor. This might be the last Tensor chip fabricated by Samsung.

Other than that, these phones will come with Google Gemini pre-installed, so you should expect them to be AI-centric. Unfortunately, they won’t come with Android 15 installed. That update will come soon after.

The Pixel 9 will start at $799 with the Pro starting at $999 and the Pro XL starting at $1,099.
