Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab S10 series of Android tablets have been the subject of several leaks and reports lately. The company is expected to launch two models in the series including the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra. Recently, the Galaxy Tab S10+ or Tab S10 Plus appeared in the IMEI database and on the benchmarking platform Geekbench. Now, the Galaxy Tab S10+ has received a certification from SafetyKorea, which suggests an imminent launch.
The new Galaxy Tab S10+ certification points towards two variants of the slate
The folks over at MySmartPrice have unearthed the new certification of the Galaxy Tab S10+ tablet in the database of SafetyKorea. The certification suggests that the South Korean Galaxy Tab S10+ will bear the model number SM-X826N. The device was spotted in the IMEI database bearing a similar model number. In some markets, the slate will carry the model numbers SM-X828U and SM-X826B.
The database also reveals another derivative model number SM-X820, which is said to be the Wi-Fi-only variant of the tablet. Furthermore, the certification suggests that the Galaxy Tab S10+ will be manufactured in the company’s factory in Vietnam. Unfortunately, the SafetyKorea certification didn’t reveal anything about the specs of the forthcoming Samsung tablet.
Galaxy Tab S10 series rumored specs & launch date
According to the reports, Samsung will be switching to a MediaTek processor for the Galaxy Tab S10 series globally. Both the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra models were spotted on the Geekbench with the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor. The MediaTek chipset is on the same page as last year’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The new slates will also have a Mali-G720 Immortalis MP12 GPU and 12GB of RAM, at least on one of the variants.
As for the other specs, the rumor mill indicates that the Galaxy Tab S10+ will sport a 12.4-inch display. The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra model, on the other hand, is expected to flaunt a bigger 14.6-inch screen. Both will utilize Dynamic AMOLED screen panels with up to 120Hz refresh rate for a smooth scrolling experience. The new tablets are also expected to bring enhancements to the camera, software, and battery departments. While the Galaxy Tab S10+ is said to have a single rear camera, the Tab S10 Ultra model could flaunt dual cameras like the Tab S9 Ultra.
Samsung has already confirmed that the Galaxy Tab S10 series will see the light of the day before the end of 2024. There’s a possibility that the company may unveil the successors to the Galaxy Tab S9 series alongside the Galaxy S24 FE in September or October. We expect to hear more about the new slates soon, so stay tuned to Android Headlines for regular updates.
