Don't Show Again Yes, I would!

Google Pixel Watch 3 has 2,000nit peak brightness, 20% faster charging & more

Thanks to some promotional material we received from a source, we can now tell you even more about the Google Pixel Watch 3. Including some of its specs and other improvements.

Pixel Watch 3 will sport Google’s Actua Display, which will bring the brightness up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness on both models. Google is also touting 20% faster charging on the 41mm model. However, Google can’t say the same for the 45mm model since this is a brand new one, and there’s nothing to compare it to. It looks like the battery life is mostly the same. It boasts about 24 hours of use with an always-on display turned on. Or up to 36 hours with Battery Saver Mode turned on.

When it comes to what is included in the box, there’s no surprise here. It’s the same thing as last year, with the watch, band and the USB-C charger. It looks to be the same charger as the Pixel Watch 2, which includes pins to keep the watch securely on the charging puck. Both models also get a second length for the band, so you get small and large options for the Active Band, which is what is included by default.

You can see your Nest Doorbells and Cameras on your wrist

With Pixel Watch 3, Google is adding the functionality to allow you to see your Nest Doorbells and Cameras right there on your wrist. So if you’re doing something and can’t pick up your phone, you can just turn your wrist and see what’s going on. Whether that is someone delivering a package or someone walking by.

Google is also including a new Morning Brief on Pixel Watch 3, which delivers a summary of your most important health and fitness metrics each morning, which includes how you slept and your readiness score for the day. Speaking of the Readiness Score, this lets you know how your body is feeling and what you can do today to keep from over or under-training. Google is also adding a new Cardio Load feature, which measures how hard your heart works and is part of your Readiness Score.

Google is making the Pixel Watch 3 a great option for runners (if you forget about the battery life), with the ability to build custom runs and access saved workouts to beat your personal records. You’ll also get audio and haptic cues for when to sprint, cool down and maintain your pace. The Pixel Watch 3 will also help improve your form with insights on cadence, stride and vertical oscillation.

The Google Pixel Watch 3 is expected to be announced at the Made by Google event on August 13, alongside the new Pixel 9 series and the Pixel Buds Pro 2. There could also be a new Google TV streaming device and a Nest Thermostat announced there too.
