Anna Henderson was the next British woman to win a medal this year, surprisingly, in the women's individual time trial.
After securing his Olympic streak, Henderson overcame the difficult conditions to finish the race in 41 minutes and nine seconds, a result he never expected.
After his impressive stormy ride, Henderson said: “I can’t trust you. I had a slight feeling that I might be able to get on the next podium, hopefully seeing other drivers, but I can’t prove that I was second. It’s unbelievable.
“I started crying when I found out it was the second one. I can't stop smiling, this is in the clouds.
“I barely focused on the challenges and being careful on the curves… I realized I could lose an entire Olympics there. I saw a lot of girls, and I have problems now, and I'm very happy that I can definitely do it.
