Along with a redesign, Samsung‘s upcoming wireless earbuds are rumored to bring audio upgrades. The Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro may also offer better call clarity and battery life. It appears these improvements will come at a cost. A new leak reveals the alleged Korean prices of the duo, and they are higher than their predecessors.
Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro prices leaked
A screenshot shared on X allegedly shows the launch prices for the Galaxy Buds 3 (model number SM-R530) and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro (SM-R630) in Samsung’s home country South Korea. The former is priced at KRW 203,700 (approx. $148), while the latter costs KRW 296,700 (~$215). These prices are slightly more than what the company charged for the Galaxy Buds 2 (KRW 149,000) and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro (KRW 279,000) in South Korea.
As you can see, the standard Galaxy Buds 3 is seeing a bigger price hike than the Pro in Samsung’s homeland. If the company increases the prices similarly in the US, we might see the former cost closer to $200 and the latter approach $250. The US prices of the previous-gen models were $150 and $230, respectively. A lot depends on local taxes and Samsung’s business strategy, though. The new pair may come in black and white colors.
Interestingly, someone recently purchased the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro before the Korean firm could launch it. They paid $250 for the pair but it’s unclear if that’s the retail price. Since they purchased it before launch, they may have had to pay more. The Galaxy Buds 3 also had its Tanzanian retail price leaked recently. It costs slightly over $200 in the country. Joining the dots, a global price hike seems likely for both new Samsung earbuds.
Hopefully, Samsung will justify the hike with an improved user experience. Rumors say the Pro will support 24-bit/96kHz codec, up from 24-bit/48kHz. Both models sport the more practical stemmed design that brings the microphone closer to the mouth and potentially improves the call quality. Touch and gesture controls are also easier to execute on the stem. We may get bigger batteries and improved ANC (Active Noise Cancelation) as well.
The official launch is right around the corner
