The new Ibanez TOD10N Tim Henson signature nylon-strung acoustic guitar is now officially out. This guitar features on the Polyphia track Playing God and has been a highly anticipated release.
Left-handed version of Ibanez TOD10N Tim Henson signature
[July 02 2024] Ibanez has just added the left-handed Tim Henson TOD10NL LH version of this model to the lineup.
TOD10N
The new Ibanez TOD10N was first seen in the video for “Playing God” by Tim’s band Polyphia. His previous signature Ibanez THBB10 * model is an all-electric model. But now he has an acoustic to go with it.
Construction
It is a nylon acoustic/electric guitar. Despite its almost solid body look, we are dealing with traditional acoustic construction here. The TOD10N has a solid spruce top and Sapele back and sides.
Ultra Thin Acoustic
The body itself is kept very slim with a thickness of only 50 mm. Two deep cutaways ensure unhindered access to the highest frets. Just the right thing for a guitar virtuoso like Tim. The walnut fretboard is not framed by a beautiful binding and is decorated with an opulent “Tree of Death” inlay. The matt black finish sets off this understated acoustic perfectly and I think it looks great.
The side-mounted sound hole allows the player to hear themselves clearly and works well in terms of aesthetics as well.
Fishman Sonicore Pickup
The pickup is a Fishman Sonicore, the preamp comes from Ibanez and offers a 2-band EQ as well as volume, phase and an integrated tuner.
MSRP
With the TOD10N, Tim Henson has created a modern nylon-strung guitar that is definitely unique. The price is also very reasonable and I can see it selling many guitars, as Polyphia has a massive fan base.
MSRP – EUR 699
