Google Keep is getting multi-account support for split-screen mode

Google Keep is getting a productivity boost with new multi-account support for the split-screen option. This means you can open two instances of Keep with different accounts at the same time. The feature is rolling out to big-screen Android devices, such as tablets and foldables.

Keep is one of Google’s most popular apps, as it allows you to quickly create tasks and set reminders, among other things. Last year, the app received multi-instance support on big-screen devices. This allows users of supported devices to open two Keep app windows side-by-side. The function was designed to work more comfortably while creating and organizing your notes and reminders. However, you could only see your notes on one account.

Google Keep now supports side-by-side multi-account on big-screen Android devices

Now, the company is adding multi-account support to the Google Keep multi-instance feature. So, now you’ll be able to view your notes side-by-side between two different Keep accounts, enabling even more possibilities for working and organizing your stuff. According to Google, “Having two windows open side-by-side enables better insight into your notes and gives you more ways to work with, display, and organize your content across multiple accounts.”

The process of setting up two Keep windows with different accounts on your devices can be a bit cumbersome. You cannot do it from the Recents multitasking menu > Split screen option. You can only enable it from the overflow menu after selecting a note within the app and tapping on “Open in new window”. Now, you will see a new “Switch accounts” option.

Multi-account support is available in the latest Google Keep app update (5.24.242.03.90). However, you may not receive the option even after installing the update. This is because the rollout is being carried out gradually. So, you just have to wait a few days to receive the feature on your device.
