This Gibson limited-edition Jeff Beck YardBurst guitar honours the late guitarist’s early days with the Yardbirds.
Jeff Beck YardBurst
Gibson has just announced this limited run, Jeff Beck YardBurst 1959 Les Paul Standard and there will only be 130 of them. Each comes with a hand-selected maple top that closely matches the original guitars. They also have a lightweight one-piece mahogany back. Then, the Gibson Custom Shop gave each guitar the Murphy Lab ageing to the nitrocellulose finish.
The 50s rounded medium C mahogany neck is fitted with a rosewood fretboard inlaid with aged cellulose nitrate trapezoid inlays. Hardware includes a set of Kluson single-line single-ring tuners, a historically accurate ABR-1 bridge lightweight aluminium stop bar tailpiece, and a single-ply black pickguard.
Double Creams
This model comes fitted with unpotted Gibson Custombuckers with Cream bobbins (no covers) and uses CTS 500k audio taper potentiometers, paper-in-oil capacitors, and a three-way Switchcraft switch.
Special Case and Candy
Each of the 130 guitars has a certificate of authenticity with a photo, a royal blue stained glass pattern strap, a mounted custom shop switchplate medallion, and a reissue backplate. The case is a special aged Lifton hardshell case lined with custom burgundy crushed velvet inspired by a suit Jeff often wore in the Yardbirds.
