Singapore, China and India teams win Gold in the Cannes 2024 Young Lions competition – togetherbe

Following seven competitions over four days, the Cannes Lions International Festival for Creativity has announced its 2024 Young Lions winners. In Media, Havas Creative China’s Jiayu Cao and Linghui Dai took out Gold. Ginola Tan and Tan Yuan Ling from GOVT Singapore have scored the Gold in PR. Praptee Sharma and Roshni Govind Iyengar from Jio Platforms Limited India won Gold in the Marketers, sponsored by Pantone.

 

The Media competition was dominated by Asia who won the Gold, Silver and Bronze. The other Media winners are, Hakuhodo Inc Japan’s Seri Morikawa + Hinako Kawai (Silver) and Cheil Worldwide South Korea’s Sujin Lim and Tae-yul Ko.

The Young Lions competitions, which are sponsored by Adobe, are at the heart of the Cannes Lions School. They embody a true celebration of creativity across the world where young professionals have the opportunity to showcase their talent and achievements. All of the entries have been judged by members of the Cannes Lions Juries live in Cannes, and the Gold, Silver and Bronze winners have now been announced.

The News Movement, the official media partner of Young Lions, brought the competitions to life through behind-the-scenes video content and interviews designed to capture the spirit of creativity and innovation of emerging talent at the Festival.

The Young Lions Media competition focuses on how young professionals use strategic thinking and innovative approaches to solve an important marketing challenge. This year’s brief was delivered by the Unstereotype Alliance, which asked competitors to curate a powerful media strategy that reaches young men and presents a more diverse, contemporary understanding of success for them.

The Young Lions PR competition asks its entrants to create an innovative PR strategy. The PR brief was supplied by Jood Kitchen. Jood Kitchen asked Young Lions competitors for a strong PR idea to raise awareness of the benefits of Jood Kitchen, so it can become more independent and financially self-sufficient in the long term.

Focusing on the foundation of creative work that engages its audience, the Young Lions Marketers competition centres on creating a strong and effective brief. This year the brief was set by the World Bank’s International Development Association (IDA), which asked competitors to recruit young people, entrepreneurs, influencers and civil society groups to champion and advocate for the IDA, to create greater awareness for their work.
