Samsung confirms Galaxy Watch Ultra name ahead of Unpacked

Samsung has just officially confirmed, albeit inadvertently, that its upcoming premium smartwatch will be called Galaxy Watch Ultra. The name appeared on now-deleted support pages for the unannounced wearable on its website. The company will unveil the watch alongside new foldables and other products at Unpacked in July.

Samsung accidentally confirmed the Galaxy Watch Ultra’s name

The Galaxy Watch lineup is getting its first Ultra-branded member this year. It’s a premium smartwatch that Samsung aims to pitch against Apple’s Ultra watches. We exclusively reported in April that the wearable will bear the marketing name Galaxy Watch Ultra. However, some sources said it will arrive as the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra. This also made sense as Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Watch 7 alongside this premium model.

This confusion was settled by a TDRA certification last month. The UAE government’s regulatory body certified the new watch with the same model number (SM-L705F) we revealed in our exclusive report in April. It also mentioned the same marketing name, i.e., Galaxy Watch Ultra. We now have an official confirmation from Samsung. The company published product pages for the upcoming watch on its website along with the name.

Spotted by 91Mobiles, the official support pages for the Galaxy Watch Ultra were briefly up on Samsung’s websites in Canada, Austria, Latin America, and other regions, with some listings specifying the product’s name alongside its model number. The company deleted the pages later, but not before the publication could grab screenshots. The deleted listings also confirmed that the watch will only come in a 47mm size.

Samsung also previously published official support pages for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 on its websites complete with their marketing names. However, it has deleted those pages too. Even the pages that didn’t include the names, which is quite unlike Samsung. Nonetheless, these developments indicate a nearing launch of the new products. It might soon re-publish the deleted support pages.

The launch event may take place on July 10

Every year, Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked mysteries are leaked way before the actual event. The company couldn’t prevent that from happening this year either. Leaks have already revealed that the next Unpacked will take place on July 10 in Paris, France. Alongside new watches and foldables, we are also expecting a couple of new wireless earbuds and a formal launch for the Galaxy Ring. Stay tuned for Samsung’s official Unpacked invitation.
