Gold Lions have been won by Leo Burnett Bangkok + Choojai and Friends Bangkok in the Film category at Cannes. Overall 12 Gold Lions have been awarded.
Choojai and Friends Bangkok’s hilarious ‘Sammakorn Not Sanpakorn’ film for Sammakorn and Leo Burnett Bangkok’s ‘What The Fast!’ for Krungsri First Choice are the Gold winners.
2 Grand Prix have been awarded this year and 53 Lions over. The Grand Prix’s went to The Monkeys for the Sydney Opera House ‘Play It Safe’ and Marcel Paris for ‘Women’s Football’.
Film Lions Jury President, Tor Myhren, VP Marketing Communications at Apple Inc, Global, said on Orange’s campaign: “Sometimes the idea wins out over everything. This was hands down the best, most empowering idea in film this year. To see it is to love it, and we fell in love the first day of judging.”
Myhren also described ‘Play It Safe’ as “a celebration of the creative spirit, of brave ideas and taking huge risks in the face of critics and controversy and cultural norms. Quite simply, it’s the best film of the year and makes you proud to be in this industry.”
Early today it was announced that GIGIL Philippines won Silver and 8 Bronze Lions were awarded to Asia. Ogilvy Bangkok picked up 2 and all winning 1 Bronze were MullenLowe Singapore, Soho Square Bangkok, Wolf Bangkok, Sour Bangkok and TBWA\Media Arts Lab won Bronze Lions.
