Galaxy Watch FE accidentally put on sale by retailer, price mentioned

Last week, Samsung prematurely listed the Galaxy Watch FE on its official website. It published a blank product page and a promotion for the unannounced smartwatch. While the company has withdrawn both listings, a third-party retailer has now jumped the gun. Dutch retailer Mobiel briefly put the Galaxy Watch FE on sale, revealing everything you need to know about the device, including its price. The page has been taken down, but not before the internet saved its copy.

Galaxy Watch FE was briefly on sale before its launch

Spotted by Android Planet, Mobiel recently opened pre-orders for the Galaxy Watch FE on its e-commerce site in the Netherlands. The retailer listed all three rumored colors of the watch: black, pink gold, and silver with a light blue strap. The wearable was available to buy in a 40mm size (it’s the only size option). The new Fan Edition watch is actually a rebadged Galaxy Watch 4 40mm. Samsung didn’t bother re-launching the 44mm variant of its 2021 flagship.

The now-deleted retail listing for the Galaxy Watch FE stated a launch price of €219.95. An earlier price leak, which also originated from a third-party retailer in Italy, hinted at a similar price tag. Some other leaks, meanwhile, say Samsung will sell the watch for €199. It’s unclear if this is because of different local taxes across different European countries or if one of the reported prices is inaccurate. Or maybe the former is the printed price on the box and the latter is the selling price.

At a price of around €200 or $200, the Galaxy Watch FE is an exciting product. It may be a rebadged Galaxy Watch 4, but Samsung will ship it with Wear OS 4-based One UI 5 Watch, so you get the same experience as the Galaxy Watch 6 series out of the box. The company has also fitted it with its modern watch straps featuring a push button. The watch is fairly capable and looks good overall. It has a competitive chipset and boasts NFC for contactless payments.

An official launch isn’t too far off

Mobiel’s premature listing for the Galaxy Watch FE didn’t include a release date. It simply said the delivery of pre-orders would begin “as soon as possible”. It’s an indication that the device is nearing its official launch. Rumors say Samsung will unveil it on June 24. The company isn’t keeping it for Unpacked in July because it has the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra in the pipeline. The new flagships will arrive with a newer version of Wear OS and One UI Watch, so the FE model doesn’t fit in this group.
