Google‘s Pixel Watch 3 will look identical to its predecessor, leaked renders confirm. Prolific leakster Steve H. McFly, aka @OnLeaks, recently teamed up with 91Mobiles to give us our first look at the upcoming smartwatch. It sports the same design as the Pixel Watch 2, which itself is identical to the original Pixel Watch. Google seems to have settled on this design language.
Leaked Pixel Watch 3 renders reveal an unchanged design
For the first time, Google is rumored to launch its smartwatch in two sizes. The Pixel Watch 3 may come in 41mm and 45mm sizes. This leak specifically shows us the former, though both variants would look the same. According to the sources, the watch will measure 40.79 x 40.73 x 14mm in dimension. It is slightly thicker than the Pixel Watch 2, which measures 41 x 41 x 12.3mm.
The added thickness reportedly bumps up the battery from 304mAh to 307mAh. That is not a big increase, which suggests Google has used the extra space for something else—maybe more sensors for comprehensive health monitoring. The 45mm variant, which could be called the Pixel Watch 3 Pro, should feature a bigger battery. Its specs and dimensions are not known yet.
As far as the screen size is concerned, the 41mm Pixel Watch 3 still has a 1.2-inch panel, so don’t expect Google to shrink the bezels. Thankfully, its design allows the company to camouflage the bezels nicely. The curved screen design makes the device look premium, albeit a little fragile. The leaked renders confirm the presence of a ridged rotating crown on the right side.
There is a microphone hole next to it, while a long slit on the other side should be the speaker output. The Pixel Watch 3 is shown in black with a matching band. Google will likely release the watch in other colors too. It should run Wear OS 5. The new version may debut with Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra next month. Samsung will ship its watches with One UI 6 Watch.
The new Google watch will arrive later this year
Not much information about the Pixel Watch 3 has reached the rumor mill. However, we expect industry insiders to drop in some tidbits about the upcoming Google smartwatch in the build-up to its launch later this year. The new watch should debut alongside the Pixel 9 series this fall. Time will tell whether the Pixel Watch 3 will bring any major hardware upgrade to go with Wear OS 5-based software.
