Lotus Sound Audio Ocean Plate: Endless Washes of Plate Reverb

This new plate reverb plugin by Lotus Sound Audio really delivers an ocean of sound. With lush plate reverbs modeled after a famous analog unit, Ocean Plate is perfect for anyone who likes to use reverb as a sound design tool. Submerge your tracks in waves of analog warmth!

On the left, you’ll find the reverb controls. In addition to Size, Decay, Pre-Delay, and Dry/Wet knobs, there’s a knob for dialing in the desired balance between the early reflections and the reverb tail.

The EQ and filter section on the right offers even more possibilities. Here, you’ll find two filters and three EQ bands for shaping the sound of the reverb tail.

Ocean Plate is available for macOS and Windows in VST3 and AU formats.

Function Loops Tech House Drums: 40 Drum Kits with FX

Tech House Drums by Function Loops is a drum ROMpler that comes loaded with 40 kits, each including eight instruments. Many of the sounds will be quite useful for other styles, too – it’s not limited to tech house!

More Information

The plugin is extremely easy to use. Simply load up the kit you want, and use the eight pads (or your MIDI keyboard) to trigger the samples. For each sample, you can use the knobs on the left to adjust the gain, pan, attack, and tune. In addition, there’s a set of four effects (Filter, Grit, Wobble, Space) that affect the whole kit, as well as a global gain knob. It even supports multiple outputs, so you can process each channel independently.

Tech House Drums is available for macOS and Windows in VST, VST3, and AU formats.

Psycho Circuitry Transient Reshaper

After last week’s Razorgate, here’s the next freebie from Psycho Circuitry. Transient Reshaper is a level-independent transient shaper that mimics the behavior of analog VCA envelopes. In addition to Gain, Sense, and Speed controls, it offers a reSHAPE knob for shaping the transient curve. There’s even a CV Bleed knob that adds some intermodulation distortion.

More Information

As always, Psycho Circuitry offers a paid “Plus” version with additional features. And in the case of Transient Reshaper, I reckon it’s probably worth getting. With an added sustain section, a ducking feature, a sidechain filter, and a level meter, Transient Reshaper+ offers a lot more functionality than the free version.

Transient Reshaper is available for macOS and Windows in VST3 and AU formats.
