Samsung Galaxy Ring could come in nine sizes, not eight

Last month, a leak revealed eight different model numbers for Samsung‘s first-gen Galaxy Ring, hinting at its availability in eight sizes. Another model has now popped up on a certification listing. This likely means the ring will come in nine sizes, corresponding to the US ring sizes 5 to 13. The new smart ring is expected to debut in July.

Samsung may launch the Galaxy Ring in nine sizes

The Galaxy Ring has been a long time coming. After years of leaks and rumors, Samsung officially teased the device during the Galaxy S24 launch in January. It then brought the wearable to the MWC 2024 in late February, giving us a better look at it. The company still refrained from revealing its specs, sizes, and availability details.

Subsequent reports said Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Ring in eight sizes, with the US size 13 being the biggest. Last month, we got to know the eight model numbers for the device—SM-Q500, SM-Q501, SM-Q502, SM-Q505, SM-Q506, SM-Q507, SM-Q508, and SM-Q509. The Bluetooth SIG has just certified them all, plus another one, SM-Q503.

If you look closely, SM-Q503 fits perfectly in the previously spotted model numbering scheme for the Galaxy Ring (SM-Q504 may not exist). Joining the dots, we get nine different variants of the product, likely indicating nine sizes from US ring sizes 5 to 13. Samsung seemingly wants the Galaxy Ring to be a perfect fit for people of all sizes.

The Bluetooth SIG listing confirms Bluetooth v5.4 support for the device (all sizes). It is the newest Bluetooth standard, so Samsung is equipping its first smart ring with the best connectivity features. The rest of the specs are under wraps, though. It’s unclear if all sizes will boast the same set of sensors and health features. The bigger ones are likely to have a bigger battery.

The ring may debut in July in three colors

Rumors say Samsung will announce a market release for the Galaxy Ring at its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event in July. The wearable may be available in three colors—Ceramic Black, Platinum Silver, and Gold. We are still awaiting details on the pricing structure and availability. It remains to be seen how prices will vary as we move up the sizes.

Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event may take place on July 10 in Paris, France. Less than two months of waiting now before we get to know more about the Galaxy Ring from the Korean firm. The event will also bring the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Watch 7 series, and probably the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro.
