Endorphin.es New Godspeed is the new and improved version of the popular thru-zero VCO module. In addition to this, the manufacturer has shrunk the Autopilot oscillator tuner module into a handy 1U tile.
Endorphin.es New Godspeed
Endorphin.es has taken the popular Godspeed thru-zero VCO module, which is based on the already legendary Furthrrrr Generator, and modernized it by adding a bunch of new features. To begin with, the new version, aptly named New Godspeed, boasts „Peak Performance Auto-Tuning“. This means that the oscillator tunes itself almost instantly to the nearest C, G, or A note. Moreover, there’s now a button that allows you to freeze the oscillator pitch, so you don’t risk changing it by accident. Convenient!
Like the predecessor, New Godspeed offers thru-zero linear FM with an internal modulator. This effectively creates a 2-operator FM voice, with the FM index being CV-controllable.
Besides the Sine/Fold output, there’s an Odd/Even output. The predecessor’s Sub output, which carries a square wave one, two, or three octaves below the main VCO, has also made it into the new version.
Another new addition is MIDI. Unlike the original Godspeed, the new version offers TRS MIDI In and Thru. While this is great if you run a MIDI-controlled Eurorack system, I think not everyone’s going to like that the sync inputs had to go in favor of MIDI.
Endorphin.es New Godspeed will be released in June 2024 for €175 plus tax.
Endorphin.es Autopilot 1U
The auto-tuning feature of Godspeed / New Godspeed is now also available as a space-saving 1U module (Intellijel format). Autopilot 1U is basically half of the dual-channel 3U version. The module can automatically tune oscillators. For this, simply insert it between the pitch CV source and the 1 V/Oct. input of the oscillator, and patch a reference pitch into the reference input. Autopilot 1U will then apply the appropriate voltage offset to tune the oscillator to the nearest C or A note.
Autopilot 1U will also be available in June 2024 for €55 plus tax.
