Happy birthday, Bitwig! The Berlin DAW company is turning ten years old. And for 10 years of Bitwig, they are celebrating this anniversary with steep discounts on every version! For the next ten days, you get 50 percent off for any product on their website!

Let’s celebrate 10 years of Bitwig

Ten years ago, Bitwig launched Studio 1. Since then, the company has grown into a reputable DAW maker with quite a fan base, especially among modular synth fans. To celebrate the occasion, Bitwig is showcasing the history of the DAW on its website: 10 years of Bitwig. In addition, they will be hosting special events at Superbooth 24, offering a whopping 50% discount on all Bitwig licenses for a limited time for the next ten days!

More Information

Let’s take a look back. The first version of Bitwig Studio started with a modest suite of 54 devices and, above all, big plans. With version 2, released less than three years later, Bitwig introduced a new idea called Modulators. With these 25 new devices, you could now use the DAW to control all your plugins and connected hardware remotely.

Bitwig keeps on evolving with The Grid

Bitwig Studio 3.0 was released in January 2019: the year of the Grid. The award-winning modular sound design environment included 150 grid modules. In version 4.0 (in 2021), even the DAW’s timeline became modular. In addition, they introduced audio comping and new operators to every clip. It was not far from 10 years of Bitwig!

More Information

Over the last 12 months, Bitwig has been working on versions 5.0 to 5.2. So, there is enough there to celebrate 10 years of Bitwig! These updates introduced MSEG devices (Multi-Stage Envelope Generator), three more devices that allow you to integrate grid modules directly, and more precise editing workflows along with the new Compressor+ (we reported on the updates here).

Whether it’s hybrid tracks, full Linux support, or the interactive help view for over 380 devices and modules, Bitwig has a solid foundation and a modern codebase for whatever comes next.
