Campaign Brief recognises and showcases the great work that is being produced in the region with The Work 2024 Contenders. Here is Sweetshop’s Top 3…

Macpac: A Bit Precarious
Production Company: Sweetshop
Director: Damien Shatford
Agency: The Monkeys, part of Accenture Song
Three adventurers find themselves in a precarious position as they all hang from a cliff’s edge with only a Macpac jacket to save them. There are some thoughts about how they could get out of said precarious position, but the jacket holds tight (and feels great while being held), and eventually, a saviour arrives.

Vogel’s: Risk A Little Something
Production Company: Sweetshop
Director: Max Barden
Agency: DDB Aotearoa
Gareth is just a classic Kiwi bloke in search of his beloved Vogels, which has been accidentally delivered to his neighbours. Unaware of just how intimidating his neighbours may be, Gareth is determined to get his Vogel’s bread back, no matter what.

Uber Eats: Get Almost, Almost Anything
Production Company: Sweetshop
Director: Damien Shatford
Agency: Special
In Real Magic, Tom Felton of wizardry fame orders “Magic” on Uber Eats only to have things go awry when he makes his neighbour disappear. This leads to a manhunt for Tom Felton as he goes on the run, and eventually Tom’s arrest, as the real world ramifications of using magic hit home. We sum this terrible outcome up with the super “Magic NO, Ice Magic YES” and reset to Tom ordering innocuous Ice Magic (a standard Australian desert grocery item), making the point that while with Uber Eats you can “Get almost almost anything”, maybe there’s a reason we don’t deliver absolutely everything.

In Period Romance, Nicola Coughlan, an actor renowned for starring roles in period romances, orders a “Period Romance” on the Uber Eats app only to have a dapper gent from yesteryear arrive on her doorstep. Romantic at first, the tryst soon takes a turn as his outdated views and lifestyle clash with hers. It’s not long before all the misogyny and chamber pots take their toll on Nicola and we end with “Period Romance NO, Period Relief YES.” making the point that while with Uber Eats you can “Get almost anything”, maybe there’s a good reason we don’t actually deliver absolutely everything.
