Samsung is expected to launch a new pair of premium TWS earbuds, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, later this year. While a launch date isn’t available yet, the company has started collecting regulatory certifications for the product. The upcoming earbuds have already picked up a few certifications, revealing the battery capacity of their charging case.

The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro may have unchanged battery specs

The folks at 91Mobiles recently spotted a TUV Rheinland certification for the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. The Germany-based product testing and certification agency listed the device’s case battery with the model number EB-BR630ABY. The same battery was previously certified by the Korean agency Safety Korea. TUV Rheinland has now revealed the battery capacity as well.

As per the listing, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro’s charging case will house a 500mAh battery. That should be the rated capacity. The typical or advertised capacity might be 515mAh. That is because Samsung advertises the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro‘s case battery capacity as 515mAh, though the rated capacity is 500mAh. In other words, the new pair will have unchanged battery specs.

We aren’t taking into account the battery capacity of the buds themselves, though. The previous model has a 58mAh rated and 61mAh typical capacity in each bud. It is unclear if Samsung will change things here. Any changes here could affect the battery life of the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. Other factors like the efficiency of drivers and remaining components may also impact the battery life.

The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro already offers excellent battery endurance. You get around eight hours of continuous playtime without active noise cancellation (ANC) and five hours with ANC enabled. The case supplies roughly three additional charge cycles, extending the battery life by another 18 hours or so. It remains to be seen how Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 3 Pro holds up.

Samsung also has a non-Pro model in the works

Alongside the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, Samsung is working on a standard Galaxy Buds 3. The latter has yet to show up in these kinds of public listings, while the former also recently picked up approval from India’s BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards). It remains to be seen if Samsung unveils both models at the same time or if they arrive separately. The company’s next major launch event may take place in July where it will unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. If either TWS pair sees the light of day there, time will tell.
