Google Chrome’s most useful quick-delete feature will soon be available on iOS. According to the mac observer report, Google is silently working on expanding the quick delete feature for iOS users.
Chrome’s quick delete feature is already available on Andorid. This allows Android users to quickly delete their all browsing history from the last 15 minutes or longer. You can even choose a time frame by simply tapping on the small arrow below the “Clear browsing data box” which opens a small menu allowing you to change the time frame quickly from 15 minutes to the last hour, last 24 hours, last 7 days, and all time.
For those unaware, the iOS Chrome version doesn’t allow you to delete the browsing history less than the last hour but this is going to change for the iOS Chrome version. According to The Mac Observer, the Chrome flag titled “Quick Delete for iOS” is being added which ultimately suggests the development of a feature for iPhone is under the way. However, there is no word on when this feature will roll out for iOS users.
Furthermore, the description of the flag also states that “this feature enables a new way for users to quickly delete their browsing history on iOS more easily”. Accessing the feature in the iOS Chrome version will remain the same as in the Android: Three dot menu > Clear Browsing Data > Time Range > Clear Data, that’s it.
One thing isn’t clear yet whether this feature will remain an iPhone exclusive or will coming to iPads as well. Interestingly, Google’s default app on iOS has this feature that allows you to delete browsing history from the last 15 minutes.
