HONOR confirmed, several times, that it is planning to launch a flip phone. Earlier this year, the company said that its first flip phone foldable is coming in 2024. Well, it seems like the first flip phone from HONOR could arrive very soon.
The first flip phone from HONOR is coming soon, at least that’s what it seems like
To be more accurate, it could arrive in Q2 this year, so before July comes knocking. A new report from a Weibo tipster says that the HONOR Magic Flip, which is the alleged name of the device, will launch after the HONOR 200 series.
The HONOR 200 Lite is expected to launch on April 25 in France. We presume that the rest of the HONOR 200 series will arrive during the same event, or at least in proximity to that. At which point HONOR will turn to the HONOR Magic Flip.
The HONOR Magic Flip’s alleged design did surface back in March. You can check it out below this paragraph. The phone will allegedly have a large cover display, which is not surprising at all.
Two vertically-aligned cameras are tipped to be included on the back and be included in the top-left corner of the phone’s cover display. The phone will, of course, fold right down the middle.
We still don’t know if it will be a high-end device, or more of a mid-range one
The device’s specs are still a mystery, however. We don’t know if HONOR will aim to release a high-end clamshell foldable, or if will it lean more toward the mid-range sector.
The HONOR Magic V2, the company’s book-style foldable, was actually announced as a high-end device. The same could happen with HONOR’s first flip phone, we’ll see. We do believe the HONOR Magic Flip will arrive to global markets too. It will almost certainly launch in China first, though. Do note that the first HONOR smart ring is also on the way.
