The PRS S2 Series of guitars has had a massive update for 2024. They now come standard with USA pickups and electronics.

PRS S2 Series 2024

The American-made PRS S2 line has been upgraded for 2024. The S2 guitars are all built in Stevensville, Maryland. The “Stevensville 2,” or S2 Series, was named after the second manufacturing line created inside the PRS Stevensville, Maryland shop in 2013.

They have always used the same import pickups as the more affordable PRS SE line. Today, PRS announced that the S2 line will now come as standard with the same US pickups and electronics as the core line of guitars.

Verdict

They also feature nitrocellulose finishes as standard, so the whole range is getting very close to the specifications of the US Core line, but for less money—a significant update for 2024. This latest pickup upgrade from PRS is going to be popular.
