Gretsch Pristine LTD Electromatic expands the line with two new models for this year. The Jet Single-Cut and the Center Block Double-Cut exude style in abundance, yet both are surprisingly affordable.
Pristine LTD Electromatic
These new Gretsch Jet Single-Cut and Center Block Double-Cut models are part of the company’s Pristine LTD Electromatic series. Each model shares typical specifications, including gold hardware and U-shaped neck profiles, that place it in this Electromatic range but are different enough to warrant a closer examination.
Gretsch Jet Single-Cut
First, let’s take a more detailed look at this Jet Single-Cut model, which is available in three finishes: Petrol, White Gold, and Mako. As I mentioned above, these models all come with gold hardware, which makes these guitars look pretty stylish, especially with these great finish choices.
Chambered
They feature a chambered mahogany body with a maple top and a U-shape mahogany neck. The neck has a 12”-radius laurel fretboard fitted with 22 medium jumbo frets and Pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays.
Filter’Tron
This model has a pair of FT-5E Filter’Tron pickups and a Bigsby B50 vibrato. The pickups are controlled via a Master volume with a treble bleed circuit, a master tone, individual pickup volume controls, and a three-way pickup selector.
Well Under $1000
Its specifications are excellent, and at well under $1000, it would fool many people into believing it was far more expensive.
Center Block Double-Cut
Next is the Center Block Double-Cut model, which has a mahogany body with a chambered spruce center block. This model is available in Dark Cherry Metallic, White Gold, and Petrol. Again, it is all gold hardware throughout and has the exact neck specifications as the Jet Single-Cut model above.
Bigsby B70
This time, it comes outfitted with P-90E single-coil pickups, which again have the same control layout as its sibling. However, this model comes with the Bigsby B70 vibrato unit instead.
Verdict
I’m impressed by both of these guitars, as they offer much for your money. Gretsch has released some great guitars already this year, including the limited-edition Chris Rocha, Portugal. The Man, and the boygenius model. These latest models set the bar pretty high for the competition and look like a great option for anyone who wants a vintage style.
