The BPI-R4 is designed to outperform its predecessor, the BPI-R3, in every way, with an impressive array of connectivity options and new features. Here’s what you can expect from this highly anticipated router development board.

Banana Pi BPI-R4 Router Connectivity and Features

The Banana Pi’s upcoming BPI-R4 features a cutting-edge MediaTek MT7988A (Filogic 880) Quad-core ARM Cortex-A73 core, which promises superior performance. Other significant improvements include:

  • Upgrade to 4GB DDR4 RAM
  • 8GB eMMC ample storage
  • 128MB SPI-NAND flash
  • Two 10Gbe SFP ports
  • Four Gigabit Ethernet ports
  • USB3.2 port
  • Support 4G/5G/NVME SSD via M.2 slot

In addition, there are two mini PCIe slots with dual lane PCIe 3.0 interface for additional Wi-Fi 7 NIC (Network Interface Card). Simply put, this open source router development board delivers high performance and is ready to handle whatever you throw at it.

MediaTek Philologic 880
