Users of the wonderful Vivaldi browser may be interested to know that its developers have provided access to Bing Chat in a creative way. The latest update by the Vivaldi team has provided a solution that will provide you with a seamless experience Access to Bing Chat with Vivaldi 6.1 browser. Vivaldi masquerades as Microsoft Edge when visiting Bing. This means that you can access the Bing Chat AI assistant with Vivaldi on desktop and Android devices.
Vivaldi Browser provides access to Bing Chat
Vivaldi is built on top of the open source Chromium project. It’s the same kernel used in Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. Websites running in one Chromium browser should work in other browsers.
Many websites worked perfectly in Vivaldi but got blocked when not on the allowed site list of leading browsers. To combat this, in 2019 Vivaldi had to change its User-Agent strings. The User-Agent contains the name of the web browser, the name of the operating system, and other technical information.
Vivaldi has begun masquerading as Google Chrome to improve the site’s compatibility on desktop and Android.
Fast forward to 2023: The new Client Hints standard aims to replace the old User Agent. Vivaldi is now receiving reports that websites are blocking Vivaldi based on their customer tips. History repeats itself.
Vivaldi would like to proudly announce itself as Vivaldi, but the current state of the web makes this difficult.
Vivaldi developer Yngve Pettersen explains the user agent distinction.
It’s not just websites that discriminate based on your name. Vivaldi is now disguised as Google Chrome for graphics card drivers, which unlocks graphics card driver optimizations made specifically for Chrome.
By pretending to be Chrome, the GPU user uses less memory and resources. It improves battery life, reduces crashes, and improves system stability.
Having to find workarounds for these problems has now opened up new possibilities for Vivaldi users. There are people who would like to try Bing Chat but were unable to do so because they would need to use Microsoft Edge for that.
Now, we’ve taken extra steps to ensure you get the hang of using Bing Chat. “
The development team behind Vivaldi also recently made a preview of their browser available on iOS and iPad. Still in early development stages, you can now sign up for the iOS newsletter to be notified when it becomes available or download the preview build to provide feedback to help with its development
