Peekaru Original Carrier Cover
Can you wear it on your back?
Yes, you can. Although the Peekaru Original is designed for front use, it is fully functional when using a back carry. You may find the neck zipper unusual as it will zip up the back of your neck, but we find the back carry option works great! (And so does our son!) To put it on your back, simply secure your child in their carrier, put your left arm through the arm opening, flip the Peekaru over their head (they may complain for a second being covered, but its almost over!) and PULL down. Don’t worry about anything scratching them as nothing but soft fleece is back there, no zippers, no clips, nothing to harm them. After your baby pops through the head hole, simply zip the vest up. Alternatively, some people have found that putting the baby head hole over their baby and then securing them on their back to be another way. If you have any additional questions, or are having trouble please contact us as we may have some tips for you!

What, no sleeves?
The Peekaru Original can be worn alone or with a coat over it. You can add your rain coat, winter coat or even another babywearing coat over the Peekaru Original so you always have the perfect amount of warmth for the temperature. We believe the design provides the best compromise of warmth, ease of use, and style. Since the Peekaru Original is a vest, you can wear it in temperatures from 69 to about 40 alone, add a coat and you can wear it throughout winter in even the coldest climates. This versatility isn’t possible if it has sleeves, as the sleeves would make it too warm for spring or fall and too bulky to layer over. The high quality Polartec fleece is surprisingly warm, we found that at Christmas in Northern Idaho, we needed only a hat, a Peekaru Original, baby heater (our daughter) and gloves, we were fine to walk for over an hour!

How much does a Peekaru Original Cost?
$79.95 + 5.99 Shipping (plus applicable tax for CO residents)

What sizes do you carry?
We currently stock Small (size 4-6) Medium (size 8-10) Large (size 12-14) XL (size 16-18) and 3XL (size 22-26). Buy the size that fits you, as the size of the child won't affect the fit.

My child likes to have her hands free, will the Peekaru Original constrict her movement?
No, because the Peekaru is made of top quality fleece, it is stretchy enough for your curious child to reach their hands out of the neck hole.

What does 85% recycled material mean?
The Peekaru Original is made from 85% recycled Polartec fleece (www.polartec.com for more information on Polartec) which is milled in the USA. 85% recycled means that approximately 25 two liter plastic bottles are used to create each Peekaru Original. Each 150 Peekarus made saves about a barrel of oil and half a ton of toxic air pollution. Feel good knowing that your purchase is doing its part to help reduce, reuse and recycle!

Is the Peekaru Original a baby carrier?
No, the Peekaru Original is an accessory to your baby carrier. It is a cover that zips over the baby carrier you already own. It has been tested with and is compatible with: Baby Bjorn and other front pack carriers, Mei Tais (including BabyHawk and Kozy), Soft Structured carriers (including Ergo and Beco), wraps (including Moby and Didymos), Pouchs* (including Hotslings and Peanut Shell), ring slings* (including Zolowear and Maya Wrap).

*Please note that the Peekaru Original should not be worn with a child in the cradle or side laying position, as your babies head needs to be out of the baby head opening in order to insure proper oxygen flow.
